Reported directly to VP. General Manager. Responsible for the creation and design of new systems for this division which develops, sells and supports microcomputer "turnkey" systems for the automation of medical practices. Duties included Systems Design and Specification writing, Planning, Cost Estimating, Budget Preparation and management for department, Hardware evaluation and selection, operating systems, Languages, Network Software, Database. Vendor management and negotiations.

  • Rescued project that was one year behind schedule. System delivered to first users within four months - on time and under budget.
  • Created automated testing procedures which allowed 400% increase in productivity of quality assurance group.

Responsible for total technical environment at Hearst.
